Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State, emerged as the winner of the African Iconic Women Recognition Awards (AIWRA) 2024. She secured a comfortable lead over four other First Ladies in the voting exercise organized by Face of Democracy Nigeria (FDN). The award recognizes outstanding women for their contributions to peace-building and national development.

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the senator representing Kogi central, and Boma Goodhead, the lawmaker representing Akuku/Asari Toru constituency in Rivers, have been shortlisted for the 2024 African Iconic Women Recognition Awards (AIWRA).

AIWRA is organised by Face of Democracy Nigeria (FDN) to recognise outstanding women for their contributions to peace-building and national development.

In recognition of humanitarian activities and contribution towards Vulnerable women and children in Zamfara, the state first lady Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal has been awarded with most egalitarian first lady of the year.

The award was presented by African ICONIC Women during a colourful event held in Congress Hall Transcorp Hilton Abuja.

Fajag Concept, organisers of Africa Iconic Women Recognition Awards has announced the commencement of nomination for the 2022 edition of the award coming up later this year. 
 
The award ceremony will honour 20 outstanding women in 20 categories.
