Olufunsho Alexandre Ajagbonna is a distinguished leader in the awards and recognition industry, celebrated for his unwavering dedication to promoting excellence across multiple sectors. A graduate of Kwara state Polytechnic in Public Administration. He served as a Marketing Assistant for Headies Awards in 2018 to 2010. After which he worked towards becoming a driving force behind the African Iconic Women Recognition Awards, he has successfully led initiatives that honor innovation, leadership, and contributions across diverse fields, thereby raising the global benchmark for excellence and recognition.
Ajagbonna’s career in award recognition began in 2010, with a focus on fostering excellence through well-structured recognition programs. Over the years, he has held several prominent leadership roles, including Managing Director, COO, and CEO of esteemed organizations such as the Democracy Heroes Award, Fajag Concept, Face of Democracy Nigeria, and President of the Beauty Pageant Association in Nigeria. In each of these roles, he has played an instrumental part in developing comprehensive frameworks to recognize top achievers across multiple industries.
As President of the African Iconic Women Recognition Awards, Ajagbonna introduced pioneering systems that spotlight achievements in technology, business, education, and social impact. Under his leadership, the awards have risen in prestige, drawing global participation and widespread media attention.
He has worked on Expanding the organization’s reach across Africa, significantly increasing its international visibility.
Launching a mentorship program aimed at grooming young leaders by providing exposure to award-winning industry practices and inspiring excellence.
Ajagbonna’s commitment to promoting African beauty and culture is also evident through his work in pageantry and fashion. His visionary approach led to the creation of the “Face of Democracy Nigeria” beauty contest, an initiative designed to highlight Africa’s elegance, diversity, and strength, while empowering young women to become ambassadors for democratic values, education, and cultural pride.
